How to display the name of  a Windows 7 computer when locked
We are rolling Windows 7 out on a Domain. Is there a RegKey that will allow us to see the PCs name when the computer is locked, like the "Options" button in XP? We're finding users locking PCs and going home for the day. We can not connect to them remotely without the PC name, which the next user can't provide. Obviously we need to address the not-logging-out issue, but can we change a registry key so we can access the PC name while it's locked in the mean time?

when the computer console is locked, the only other way in is with a remote session to be able to retrieve the desired information that or you will need to log-in to see My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee. That's the problem, we're TRYING to connect remotely, but with the console locked, we can't get the PC name... I didn't know if there was a RegKey to make it display the PC name when locked, as it does with the domain name. The Switch User button ends the session abruptly and causes issues with some of our work software, so it's far from ideal for us.

Hi, When the computer is locked, you may hit “Switch the other users” and click How do I log on to another domain under the log in field, then you may get the information which you need. Thanks. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
